Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide in person appointments?

At this time, only virtual appointments are available.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently accepting Aetna, Anthem, and United Health Insurance. If I don’t contract with your insurance provider, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Before booking an appointment I suggest that you contact your insurance company to inquire about “out of network” mental health benefits and how to submit for reimbursement.

Do I have to reside in California to receive mental health services from you?

Yes. I can only provide mental health services if you are in California.

How does virtual mental health work?

We will have our sessions structured in the same manner as if we were in a brick and mortar office. You will be provided with a link that will connect you to a HIPPA secure confidential platform where we will be able to have our session. I ask that you are in a private secure area with limited distractions and noise in order to fully benefit from your therapy session.

I’ve never done therapy before, how do I know if it’s right for me?

Great question! I will provide you with a free 15 minute consultation before we schedule a 50 minute session. This will give us a better understanding of your needs and find out if we will be a good fit.

What if we are not a good fit?

The most important thing when seeking mental health services, is that your needs are appropriately met. It is ok if we are not a good fit, and this is part of the process of finding your therapist. I may direct you towards my resource page for mental health resources or discuss other referrals that may work better for you.
